Stephens Memorial Hospital has an FULL TIME opening for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Department for the Night shift.

Reports to: Med-Surg Director
Schedule: Full Time
Summary of responsibilities
The Med-Surg RN provides nursing care that meets the needs of the patient through regular and ongoing surveillance of the quality and appropriateness of nursing practices and functions.
Promotes and assists with the nursing process as established by the Nursing Department.
Promotes positive interdisciplinary relationships by working cooperatively with other departments of the hospital as specified by the health system organizational plan.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:
Ability to direct emergency procedures, as well as assisting all units with routine nursing care, admissions and dismissals when necessary. Ability to demonstrate professional skills with critical thinking. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Maintains a current license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
A minimum of six months as a general duty staff nurse and relief charge nurse experience preferred.
Current card for the successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR-Healthcare Provider) within 6 months of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within two years of hire.
